A new Costs of Care Blog post by Jim Sabin, MD, details the issues with Medicare Cost Containment. Beneficiaries pay $1 for every $3 of benefits, which is unsustainable in the long term as more and more individuals become eligible for Medicare. Although most feel entitled to Medicare, something they have worked their whole life for, if Medicare costs are not addressed, there will need to be changes in coverage down the line. How can Medicare coverage be provided if costs are not controlled?
