Lessons Learned in Scaling Up TB/HIV Collaborative Activities
Started by Sophie Beauvais on 02 Feb 2011
As one of eight international organizations engaged in the USAID-funded Tuberculosis Control Assistance Program (TB CAP), Family Health International (FHI) led the process of publishing this report on lessons learned in three countries—Cambodia, Kenya, and Malawi—to encourage the scale-up of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
The three countries have had some success in this important area, and the report investigated whether the collaborative TB/HIV activities carried out were those considered important by the World Health Organization. The report describes mechanisms for collaboration established and what has been done in each country to decrease the TB burden among HIV-infected people and the burden of HIV among TB patients.
