Even the infections which we are unable to detect through the routine sputum microscopy will be identified and can be put on treatment
We will be able to know the resistance pattern in the community if we decide to look for it without the loss of time .

Wonder what will be made of the $8 per test. It seems like with the rapid diagnosis, the patient could save that much in time/transportation for another visit, and if it leads to getting people on the right regimens quickly, that could generate a lot of value. Can't wait to see the follow up studies that take these questions on, and hope that donors see the cost in the context of its potential!

This seems a powerful tool and I think millions will benefit from this.But, as always, new discoveries, whether in drugs or diagnostics, need to be tried in the field and the cost factor kept in mind.
