Started by Chipo Takawira on 16 Nov 2010

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for publications highlighting the effectiveness of wind driven turbines/ whirlybirds in assisting natural ventilation in health facilities.

Greetings! Helen Cox (MSF) had both poster & oral presentations at the recent IUATLD Conference In Berlin. I do not have her contact details at hand; however, I'm sure someone "listening" does! There is literature available of their use (not for infection prevention & control) in industrial and some residential settings. Once I get back to the office, I will forward a few references to Sophie to posts the citation & abstract.

Regards,

Paul J

The bottom line of Helen's presentation was that they routinely measured 20 ACH in her hospital using this approach. It should be noted that Cape Town is a very windy city and you may not get the same results if your conditions are not similar.
