- Paul Klatser, Ph.D., head of the Biomedical Research department at the KIT

In the majority of tb burden countries, English at best will be a second language and these laboratories would have great difficulties without some form of mentoring support. What are the proposed plans to achieve this support?

Quality Management Systems to Strengthen TB Laboratory Capacity in the
expand commentTB Infection Control. There is a serious need to come-up with good
quality management of TB laboratories in order to produce good quality
results. David Coleman said we need to learn english yes and I add
understand its meaning and then when you have understood you can now
interpret to any language in order to produce best results. We are
saying we need a mentor, what is a mentor? It is an experienced person
and skilled who wil act as an advisor similar to a consultant, meaning
these people will give best professional advise/recommandations of
action. If we are to improve on laboratory quality management we need
those who have the skill and the expectise of the TB laboratory work.
I agree that the TB laboratory has been neglect even though they maybe
efforts done to improve, but those efforts are not applied full. We
also need to follow guidelines that have been laid down because where
there have been applied they have proved to be successful and produce
best results.
