Congress Passes Malaria Funding

The US Congress announced the funding levels for malaria and global health after a joint committee reviewed the appropriations.
-$585 million was appropriated for US bi-lateral assistance for malaria.
-1.05 billion dollars was appropriated for the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria of which malaria funding will be a substantial part.
This clearly demonstrates the United States’ commitment to saving lives from malaria. An efficient allocation of this funding to those interventions where it is most beneficial to spend US malaria dollars is the next challenge.
