Smartphone App Diagnoses Malaria

Started by Sophie Beauvais on 06 Jan 2012

Hi All,

Just read a blog post about Lifelens, a point-of-care smartphone application that diagnoses malaria from a snapshot of a drop of blood: http://www.physiciansweekly.com/blog/2012/01/06/smartphone-app-diagnoses-mala...

Their website is: http://thelifelensproject.com/blog/

Has anyone heard about this? Thoughts? Thanks, Sophie

Hello Sophie,

I found the blog so interesting. May thoughts came to imagine how this
gadget can reach the people who need it so badly. Most of the malaria cases
go undetected especially in the rural areas of Africa simply because even
healthcare workers are not available.
