Bio Bria Sharkey I am currently a medical student at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I have had the opportunity to participate in research related to type 2 diabetes in aboriginal adolescents. As a research assistant, I helped to deliver an exercise training program to youth with the aim of prevention and control of type 2 diabetes. Additionally, I participated in a pilot project in diabetes management designed to establish and evaluate the effectiveness of an exercise facility in Garden Hill First Nation.
