Bio Nyende Ali St. Francis Health Care Service was started in 1998 by Faustine Ngrambe, a former CSC novitiate, Ann Guloba, an HIV positive activist, a nurse, Ruth Nabirye and 2 counselors, all local Ugandans. Ann Guloba died 2 years later. This beginning was made possible by a donation of 10,000 Pound Sterling from Mercury Phoenix Trust, a British Charity founded by pop-star “Mercury” who died of AIDS in the early nineties. Bio Meg OBrien Dr. Meg O’Brien is the Director of the Global Access to Pain Relief Initiative (GAPRI), a program of the Union for International Cancer Control and the American Cancer Society to improve the availability of essential pain medicines. Previously, Dr. O’Brien was the research director of the Center for Strategic HIV Operations Research at the Clinton Health Access Initiative and worked on the establishment of HIV treatment clinics for the US government’s PEPFAR program in Tanzania as a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health.
