Bio Nyende Ali St. Francis Health Care Service was started in 1998 by Faustine Ngrambe, a former CSC novitiate, Ann Guloba, an HIV positive activist, a nurse, Ruth Nabirye and 2 counselors, all local Ugandans. Ann Guloba died 2 years later. This beginning was made possible by a donation of 10,000 Pound Sterling from Mercury Phoenix Trust, a British Charity founded by pop-star “Mercury” who died of AIDS in the early nineties. Bio Meg OBrien Dr. Meg O’Brien is the Director of the Global Access to Pain Relief Initiative (GAPRI), a program of the Union for International Cancer Control and the American Cancer Society to improve the availability of essential pain medicines.
