How can we improve the provision of high quality care?     Join the Quality & Safety Community

I am applying to do an MPH and I am looking for schools with a focus on Cancer epidemiology in the areas of prevention and screening. Because global health has traditionally been more geared towards infectious diseases, I am having a hard time finding programs specifically geared towards Cancer epi & public health. If you know of any schools and programs strong on cancer, please share them in this group! Thank you!

I completed a masters with a global focus in "cancer in underserved populations" with the opportunity for an NCI funded summer research project abroad. At the time the PI of the NCI training grant, Dr. Amr Soliman, was housed at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He and the training grant are now based out of Nebraska's School of Public Health. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Soliman directly or email me ().

Hi Nour,

I did my MPH at Yale and thought it was a fantastic program, I can't speak
highly enough on the education I received and opportunities available.
They split their Epi training into Epidemiology of Microbial Disease and
Epidemiology of Chronic Disease so the latter has more of a focus on
chronic diseases including cancer. Their global health training and
opportunities are also strong which is what I was involved in.

Hope this helps.
