NCD Funding
Started by Nikhil Patil on 19 Jul 2012
Hi,
I'm looking to make a list of funding organizations that support work and research in NCDs. Organizations that target individual NCDs or ones that target comprehensive NCD control work fine. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Projects include global initiatives to country-specific interventions.
Thanks!

Thanks for the question, that's a very good question. Actually, I'm currently looking funds for my work in Mexico. I'd have responded directly to you Andrea but I'd rather know if you think you can help me before.
Thank both of you.

Romain: I co-wrote a report on global NCD funding with Rachel Nugent that
you can find here:
http://www.cgdev.org/files/1424546_file_Nugent_Feigl_NCD_FINAL.pdf
We investigated major global health funders that fund large-scale NCD
projects.
For personal funding (and this type of funding is still very scarce), you
can check out the NCDAction database for personal research grants:

Hope this helps

Dear all,
this is a valuable information Andrea gave us.
I am actually looking for funding for a "Gender Medicine" project. We want
to work out how to improve health care for women in developing countries.
The project should conntect national non-expert doctors with national
expert doctors and international expert doctors using a web-based
telemedicine platform. The project will cover medical decision support
(second opinion), teaching and epidemiology.
Does anybody have any idea which organisations we could contact for funding?
Kind regards

Thank you all. I didn't explain well what I'm looking for: resources for the project (obesity and diabetes prevention in an indigenous community) and not for me directly. I'll read your report with attention Andrea.
Best regards!

Private sector in India .
CSR is a criteria that each and every private sector company /industry is
having to comply with and education and geriatric medicine can be
supported. Tata , ITC, Ruias and CII will be proactive if taken up with
proper zeal!
Good luck!
