Started by Joaquin Blaya, PhD on 30 Jul 2012

I had a question: What would people say are the top 5 diabetes management
programs in the world (especially those using mHealth)?

Thanks and sorry for the complex question.

Hola Joaquin Te saludo desde Bogota, Colombia.

La verdad no he oido ningun programa mHealth para Diabetes que se
destaque o que se pueda comentar. He visto multiples aploicaciones o

Thanks John, I didn't find much, but below is an email I wrote with what I did find.
====================================================

I'm attaching the paper we wrote about experiences of mHealth for
diabetes in 4 countries, and the video that I mentioned about MyDoctor (our system)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=492u4neBBA8

Finally, there are other commercial, biometric-centered systems,
though in a quick search I wasn't able to find much about them. The
ones I know about are
Telefonica (the telecommunicacionts company from Spanish) has a system
called Valcronic, which they've implemented last month in 2 hospitals
in Spain.
Another company called TSB also from Spain (which is derived from the
University Politechnic of Valencia) which has a similar system in 1
hospital in Spain. Here's some info about their system (though it's
all in spanish http://www.tsbtecnologias.es/productos-e-salud/NOMHADchronic/descargas).
I also know that Nokia and other companies are doing things along the
same lines, but with no hard evaluation data. Previous
experiencies from other companies with the biometric/gadget centered approach haven't worked because most patients get tired of doing ...
