9th Conference of the Canadian Rural Health Research Society Rural Health: Connecting Research and Policy – Santé rurale: Lier recherché et politiques publiques held in Fredericton, NB from September 23 to 25, 2010

The sponsoring organization, CRHRS, is a national network that brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines: nursing, community-based health research, research with indigenous communities, agricultural safety and occupational health research, rural environmental health research, and the rural division of Statistics Canada.
This annual conference is being presented as a fully bilingual conference, so research which is conducted in Quebec and other Francophone areas will be presented.
The affiliate sponsor is the Canadian Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture (CCHSA http://www.cchsa-ccssma.usask.ca/ ), subsequently there will be participation from NIOSH and other U.S. based agriculturally oriented organizations.
Conference Objectives:
•To share the findings of recent and ongoing research on rural health
•To discuss intervention strategies and policy approaches designed to assist rural residents and their communities in achieving the best possible health outcomes
•To facilitate partnerships involving researchers and decision makers in new interdisciplinary research teams
•To share successful methods of knowledge mobilization
•To discuss ways in which rural researchers and decision makers can work together in developing policy-relevant research and creating evidence-informed rural health policies
Abstract submission deadline: May 18, 2010.
