Call for Proposals/Advert

The International Health Partnership and related initiatives (IHP+)[1] has launched a Civil Society Health Policy Action Fund in 2010.

This fund is open to support health organisations, networks and coalitions in 21 IHP countries over a one-year period. The countries are Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia.

The fund aims to support southern civil society organizations, networks and coalitions to become more effectively engaged in national health policy processes. Supported by the grants, recipients will engage in dialogue with key policy makers from national governments and global health initiatives [2]. They will monitor and analyse health policy implementation and hold governments and aid donors accountable to work towards universal and equitable access to health care, and the achievement of the health related Millennium Development Goals.

The Civil Society Health Policy Action Fund invites proposals for between USD$25,000 and $30,000 from the 21 countries.

Interested applicants are requested to visit the Fund website at www.healthpolicyactionfund.org for the detailed Criteria for Selection and the application forms. The call for proposals opens 19 March 2010. The Final date for receiving applications is 21 April 2010.
