Distinguished Lecture Series from the Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery: October 13th
Started by Maggie Sullivan on 12 Oct 2010
The Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery Development (GNWHOCCs) is an international organization of WHO Collaborating Centres and nursing and midwifery leaders with international expertise, committed to maximizing the contributions of nursing and midwifery to health promotion on a local, national and global scale. Its vision is “Health for All through Nursing and Midwifery Excellence.”
As a continuing education strategy, an annual Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) was proposed to offer faculty members from GNWHOCCs and other interested faculty updated knowledge on international priority theme areas from a range of different perspectives, with the possibility to exchange state-of-the-art experiences.
As the first lecture of the DLS, Prof. Patricia Benner, from UCSF, will present the lecture entitled EDUCATING NURSES: CREATING A NEW FUTURE.
It will be held next Wednesday, October 13th, through the use of the Elluminate platform. Aiming to reach as many people as possible, two sessions will be held: at 4pm GMT time and at 1am GMT time (October 14th).
