I am hoping to obtain information on efforts of global health nursing during the current crisis in Haiti. How is your organization participating in helping, specifically mothers and children in Haiti, and what opportunities exist for other organizations to collaborate?

Dear Yolanda and Fellow GHDonline Members,

Thank you for sharing your interest in learning more about the relief efforts and how you can get involved. Please see the list of resources below and feel free to respond with additional links and information that fellow community members might find helpful.

* In collaboration with the Registered Nurse Response Network (RNRN), the California Nurses Association (CAN) has organized a call-to-action to RN volunteers: www.calnurses.org/rnrn/rnrn-volunteer-form.html
I think that these opportunities are exclusive to California- or at least US-trained nurses, but we will continue to be on the lookout for options outside of the US. You might consider contacting someone at CNA or RNRN to see if they’ve been in touch with international organizations that are also coordinating nurse volunteers.
