How to Prevent Cholera: Free cholera fact sheets in 4 languages from Hesperian

Started by Maggie Sullivan on 26 Oct 2010

As a result of the recent cholera outbreak in Haiti, Hesperian has just posted free patient education materials in Kreyol, French, Spanish and English.

"We've been very concerned about the recent cholera outbreak in Haiti - especially because we know that information can protect people and communities. Cholera can be prevented through careful use and treatment of water before drinking or cooking, sanitation, and handling of food.

Hesperian’s Cholera fact sheet is illustrated, easy to read and available as a free download in English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Kreyòl. Our fact sheet talks about the importance of sanitation, how to identify cholera, and how to make your water safe to drink.

We urge you to distribute this information widely - please forward to friends and colleagues currently in or traveling to Haiti. We extend a special thank you to Grassroots United for assisting in the translation of these materials."

Also as a reminder, Hesperian has made its books, including Where there is No Doctor and Where Women Have No Doctor, freely available online. They are easily accessible chapter by chapter and in multiple languages at:
