Maternova has developed a PPH kit and is looking for 2 groups who would be interested in testing the kit for usability and appropriateness in low-resource settings.
This kit is only focused on prevention/detection of postpartum hemorrhage. It is meant to be a
'next generation' birth kit-- and it is intended for skilled/trained birth attendants. The contents are as
follows:
1. rotary mobile phone charger
2. solar powered headlamp
3. AMTSL reminder chart stuck in the fold-out bag interior so it is part of the pak
4. WHO Colour scale for anemia detection
5. Silicone measuring cup to measure postpartum blood loss (has warning faces at 350mL and 500mL)
6. (we could also include an AMTSL rubber stamp for using as a checklist in medical records)
Please see here for the visuals: http://maternova.net/health-innovations/obstetric-kit
Please contact if you
are interested in testing the kit.
We will provide the kits free of charge in
response to an assurance that a detailed
questionnaire is filled out and that the group can implement the testing in January
2011.
