Pre-Service Education (PSE) Toolkit for Midwives: Jhpiego and MCHIP

Started by Maggie Sullivan on 20 Sep 2011

Proudly Announcing the Launch of the Pre-Service Education Toolkit

The Pre-Service Toolkit, developed by Jhpiego under the leadership of the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), outlines key programmatic steps, highlights lessons learned and identifies relevant resources to assist country programs, donors and governments with pre-service education programs. The toolkit is structured to cover the main components of a high-quality pre-service education system. The toolkit is targeted for midwives, but may be used for other cadres as well. We gratefully acknowledge the expertise and guidance of the technical advisory group who provided guidance and input to ensure the toolkit is as useful to as many organizations as possible.

Each section offers evidence-based guidance and includes related resources. The entire content of the toolkit is also available as a printable document, the Pre-Service Education Program Roadmap.

The PSE Toolkit is intended to be interactive, and we welcome your input! A discussion board allows users to post comments, suggest the inclusion of other resources and share ideas about how to use the toolkit. The toolkit will be updated continually to include new, relevant tools as they become available. http://www.k4health.org/toolkits/pse
