Medical Device Repair Database

Started by Ryan Frisbie on 11 May 2011

The University of Michigan's Mheal is currently brainstorming the best way distribute information to Medical Device Repair technicians in Latin America with future plans to expand to other target areas. Our most recent idea is create a wikipedia style website that functions using information provided by professional medical device repair technicians. The website will be translated into spanish. General maintenance and repairs will be the main focus of the website. We were wondering how effective this would be and if there were any ideas to improve the website design.

Have you seen TechNet21.org? This website is about immunization services aimed mostly at developing countries and one of its areas of focus is 'Cold chain equipment and cold chain equipment management'. This includes the very challenging issue of equipment maintenance in areas where there are few spare parts, unreliable electricity, and little transport available.
I suggest you ask you question again on TechNet21 to get some replies from the many thousands of people who follow TechNet21 any many developing countries around world. I hope this will help in your important project.
Cheers, James Cheyne
