Nyaya Health, a Boston-based NGO that works to provide health care in rural Nepal, recently partnered with Microryza, a crowd-funding platform, to help fund a mobile health intervention in Far Western Nepal. Microryza is a crowd-funding platform specifically devoted to research projects that has the potential to generate new revenue streams for researchers as well as to engage the broader public in science/public health research - a strategy consistent with implementation science strategies found in mHealth interventions globally.
We put out a project with a modest $10,000 funding goal to start, but think this platform could have the potential to eventually generate significant funding. We were curious to see if there is interest in helping disseminate/promote this new concept of research funding - if so, please let us know!
