Winter Course on Special Topics in Free Open Source Software Applied to Healthcare

Dear Colleagues,

The Institute of Community Health at the Fluminense Federal University,
Brazil (CMS-UFF) will be conducting a "Winter Course on Special Topics
in Free Open Source Software Applied to Healthcare".
The course will train health and IT professionals in developing
health information systems based on the "Multi-Level Healthcare
Information Modelling" (MLHIM) specifications, with emphasis on
knowledge modelling of all specialties and professions in the healthcare
field. The course has a workload of 30 hours and it will be completely
hands-on.

It is being produced as part of the "LA-MLHIM/INCT-MACC"
Computer Laboratory at the Institute of Community Health, NiterĂ³i,
Brazil.

The activities will focus on modelling Constraint Concept Definitions
(CCD)
(the MLHIM version of the openEHR archetypes and templates) by using the
open
source tool Constraint Definition Designer (https://launchpad.net/cdd).

The course will take place according to the following schedule:

July 11 (Mon) - 8:00am to 12:00pm and 13:00pm to 17:00pm
July 12 (Tue) - 8:00am to 12:00pm and 13:00pm to 17:00pm
July 25 (Mon) - 8:00am to 12:00pm and 13:00pm to 17:00pm
July 26 (Tue) - 8:00am to 12:00pm and 13:00pm to 17:00pm

The course is free and space is limited to 15 students in the
class. There will be no scholarships for this course and all students
(especially those who are not residents of the Rio de Janeiro
metropolitan area) must obtain their own resources for transportation,
lodging and meals during the course period.

Those interested should send a 1-page Letter of Intent in the Open
Document Format (ODF), Font Arial 12, single paragraph, to
, stating:

1) Full name
2) Contacts (especially e-mail, VoIP applications and social networks)
3) A 5-line micro-curriculum
4) The reasons why you are interested in attending the course

Important Dates:

30/04/2011: Deadline for submission of the Letter of Intent
31.05.2011: Publication of the list of selected students
30/06/2011: Deadline for completing the online form registration (link
to be sent later)
