The UpToDate International Grant Subscription Program: Introduction
The UpToDate International Grant Subscription Program was created to provide one-year complimentary subscriptions to UpToDate®, a leading evidence-based and peer-reviewed clinical information resource, to clinicians and organizations providing medical care or related services to poor or underserved populations outside the United States of America.
Accepted by more than 360,000 clinicians in over 145 countries, UpToDate provides a broad range of evidence-based medical information resources, from topic reviews that include a synthesis of the literature to specific recommendations for patient care, as created by more than 4,000 editors, authors and peer reviewers from leading medical institutions.
Elligibility and other important information to read as you consider applying to this grant:
• Organizations (inc. NGOs) operating in multiple countries and/or sites should discuss with their managers before applying. The decision to send one or several applications per organization should take into account the information and the grantee requirements detailed in this page and in the application form. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page for more directions on this.
• To pre-qualify, applicants are asked to agree to the UpToDate, Inc. Subscription and License Agreement and to the Grantees requirements as detailed in the application form. Membership and participation to at least one community on GHDonline is asked of all grantees, and since it's free to join, we invite you to sign up today!
• Though not required, access to the Internet is strongly recommended. (For applicants with no internet access, DVD donations will be considered on an individual basis.)
• As part of your application, you will need to identify the following:
• One UpToDate Liaison. The UpToDate Liaison should be a senior clinical staff member who is heavily involved in clinical activities within the organization. The Liaison acts as the UpToDate “champion” within the organization in charge of providing an initial training to all expected users of UpToDate, and acts as a liaison with the Information Technology person/department.
• One Point Person. The Point Person is responsible for reading and agreeing to the UpToDate, Inc. Subscription and License Agreement and to the Grant Privacy Policy. The Liaison can also be the Point Person.
• Please note that local UpToDate representatives may contact applying organizations as part of the pre-selection process.
• As part of the application process, we ask that you write a cover letter in your email message in English explaining when your organization was founded, its mission and core services, and why it should be the recipient of the UpToDate Grant. Your cover letter should not exceed 450 words.
• Forms to apply will be published on this web page at a later date. Please check this page again soon!
