Important information – please read carefully before applying:

  • You can apply to one of 2 types of UpToDate subscription:

An individual clinician subscription enables one clinician (practicing independently or as a volunteer or within a clinical team for an organization that does not have reliable internet and/or IT support) to access UpToDate offline with a DVD (Please note: the DVD has to be activated once on the Internet) and/or online with an individual online account.

OR

An institutional subscription enables a clinical team, within an organization and with the coordiantion of a senior clinician on the ground, to access UpToDate on multiple computers via a network of computers (no Internet needed) or via the Internet. It is highly recommended to have Information Technology support (either in-house or a volunteer) in order to set up an institutional subscription.

  • If you have never used UpToDate: please send us an email with your name, role/profession (and medical specialty or area of expertise), the name of organization (and website if available) so that we can send you a one-time, complimentary 30 day guest pass to UpToDate along with the content of one topic.
  • If you are/your organization is selected to receive a donated subscription: you will need a senior clinician on the ground to coordinate the installation of UpToDate, organize an initial training with team members who will use UpToDate, and provide feedback on a regular basis in GHDonline. This role is critical so that you/your team can fully benefit from the UpToDate subscription, and applications cannot be considered without this information.
  • Local UpToDate representative(s) may contact applicants as part of the selection process.
  • UpToDate and GHDonline may terminate access to UpToDate and GHDonline at any point in time during the grant period if grantees do not use UpToDate, do not provide feedback, or for any misuses. Please also note that previously awarded subscriptions may not be renewed if there is a lack of usage and/or feedback in GHDonline.

In addition to continuing to learn from nursing colleagues, GHDonline is a very good resource on topics that are not necessarily my area of expertise. It has become a "go to" place to quickly get an overview of topics from a diverse group of providers.
