Work History/Global Health Experience
Worked with Roche Pharmaceuticals (2001-2006), setting up obesity and Weight management program in Sub-sahara Africa. Training in obesity and cardiovascular Disease in the region.
Currenlty working with Xenihealth; An obesity program in Kenya. Managing indivuduals with Obesity and Cardiovascular disease risk factors, public nutrition education through awareness activities in public areas, television and radio,print media; newspapers and magazines.
Collecting data on obesity and contributing to Global data on obesity through WHO.
Training and mentoring students interestedd in Obesity and CVD
Xenihealth is center for Excellence in Nutrition Education in obesity and Cardiovascular risk factors.
Center for Nutrition Education and Research (CENER), part time. An NGO that mentors Nutrition students and other health professionals and students. Developing National training and education materails. Sucessfully developed materials being used in training Nutrition and HIV/AIDS in Kenya, developed the training manual, trainers manual, toolkit for service providers.
Offers quaterly trainings for all professionals to update themselves on current issues in nutrition. Currently working on Journal to encuarage Research publication.
