The Global Fund has launched its new "Born HIV Free" campaign (http://www.bornhivfree.org/f/#/en/home). The goal is to ensure that by 2015 no child is born with HIV, and the campaign intends to do this by inspiring individual citizens to sign up online in support of the Global Fund's mission. I found this "Evidence and Rights-based Planning and Support Tool" online from the World Population Fund. It's an attempt at the sort of tool I am interested in knowing more about (re: structural risk environments, and integrated programs. This one focuses on youth & sexual and reproductive health & rights (SRHR). What do folks think? Is a tool like this useful or additive to your work? Would planners out there find this instructive? I can't help but wonder if the situation is inevitable so long as prevention and treatment are not linked and equally pushed. The cost of ARTs for life for a growing patient population does not seem something that is sustainable given the world's economic situations, and the increasing interdependence of national economies on each other. With such volatility likely to resurface in the future, shouldn't funders be seeking ways to reduce the population in need ...
