FACES is a collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute and the University of California San Francisco, funded by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief through a cooperative with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. FACES works with the Kenya Ministry of Health (MOH) to build the capacity of health facilities and health systems to support high-quality HIV services, and to improve access to these services. FACES began operations in October 2004 at one facility and has expanded to currently support 57,281 people with HIV and 62 health facilities, 22,792 of whom are on ARVs and 8,991 are children.
