About Maimunat Alex-Adeomi
I am a medical doctor and public health professional with significant experience in healthcare prevention, treatment and care within the West Africa sub-region having trained and practiced in Nigeria before going to acquire an MBA degree in International Healthcare Management at the University of Aberdeen, UK and working in Ghana for 13 months before moving to the US.

I am currently a Global Health Corps fellow, working as a Monitoring, Evaluation and Implementation Officer/ Research Fellow with the Prevention and Access to Care and Treatment (PACT) project of Partners in Health and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The project involves using the Community Health Worker model to address the needs of patients living with HIV/AIDS, TB and other chronic diseases, and how to implement, scale up, and integrate the CHW model into primary care leading to achieving the triple aim of better health, better care and reduced costs of care for vulnerable populations. I am responsible for creating monitoring and evaluation tools for training and technical assistance offered by PACT in accordance to stakeholder expectations for policy and advocacy benefits. I also develop work plans and time lines for project activities and continuous quality improvement of services rendered to clients.
I am passionate about maternal and child health in West Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole as evidenced by my commitment and work experience in Nigeria and Ghana having worked on an attachment basis at the pediatric department of the 37 military hospital, Accra and as Medical Officer/Deputy Clinical Pediatric Lead at Afrikids Medical Centre in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region (UER) where I was involved in delivering clinical services at the medical centre and also involved in developing treatment protocols and clinical guidelines to improve the quality of care. I was able to in my time with Afrikids change and develop new practices for providing better treatment to patients and specifically implement new ways of managing malnutrition, febrile convulsion and asthma in children. As deputy clinical lead for pediatrics for the Ghana Health Service, Afrikids And University of Southampton (GAS) partnership, I worked with consultants from the health service of the region and University of Southampton UK to identify and develop measures to improve the health and well being of children in the UER.
I have previously worked in both private and public health institutions in Nigeria delivering and monitoring health services to individuals and communities as a whole.
