Maria May started a discussion "Making the eHealth Connection: materials from the Rockefeller conference" in the Health IT community.

http://www.ehealth-connection.org/ In August, the Rockefeller Foundation hosted a 4-week conference that brought together donors, implementers and developers who are working to leverage technology to improve health delivery and outcomes in developing countries. How is internet connectivity? Who will provide technical support and how much? What access ...

The staff there mentioned that in response to the recent earthquakes in Pakistan, the government was trying to increase the number of ICUs in the country and also offering basic life support training to interested community members to increase local capacity to respond to disasters. This reminded me of a training program that GPAS of Uganda piloted ...

Maria May replied to "Difficulties measuring value of health IT" in the Health IT community.

John, Are you specifically talking about EMR and clinical outcomes in resource poor settings? I would be really interested to see these types of studies as well, or even hear anecdotally how programs have seen outcomes change as a result of an EMR. There is a well known case in the US of Cedar Sinai
