Today we are thrilled to welcome Ashish K. Jha, MD, MPH as our final Keynote Speaker for this Breakthrough Opportunities event with the Commonwealth Fund.
Ashish is Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, K.T. Professor of International Health & Health Policy at the Harvard School of Public Health, a practicing Internal Medicine physician at the VA Boston Healthcare System, and a newly elected member of the Institute of Medicine.
Ashish’s work has focused on public reporting, pay for performance, health information technology, and leadership, and the roles these factors play in effecting the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care. With a strong body of analytic work on the US system, he also founded the HSPH Initiative on Global Health Quality (HIGHQ), played a key role in the WHO’s working group on patient safety research, and is leading an international HIT benchmarking effort with the OECD.
In this short video, Ashish discusses cutting edge technologies currently being used to monitor our everyday lives that have the potential to drastically improve health care by increasing comfort, accessibility, and lowering costs.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts on Ashish’s video below, and encourage you to submit your ideas in the next few days before the Breakthrough Opportunity Event comes to a close this Friday, December 19th: http://www.ghdonline.org/breakthrough-health-it/#submit-your-idea
