Idea Cloud-based medical data storage

By GHDonline Team | 16 Dec, 2014

Idea submitted by: Nana Kwaku mainoo

A medical record data bank where patients voluntarily asks allows their medical data to be stored in a cloud, with their unique password, they can make their medial records accessible to any healthcare facility they visit in the world. This will be very useful in developing countries where data and record keeping is a problem.

Your idea is very similar to Google health (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Health) and Microsoft health vault (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_HealthVault), both of which had (in the case of Google) or is having a hard time getting people or institutions to use it. Could you explain a bit more if your idea is along these lines or its different?

I agree with Joaquin. I would love to hear more about what innovations you would like to offer along side of that medical record bank technology? I think the idea of storing and consolidating medial record information has been around for quite some time but the real value is in using the data stored there for more complete care.
