Date and Time: Tuesday, May 30, 2017 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM ET (New York, GMT-04:00)
Hypertension is the leading global risk factor for mortality. Poor treatment and control of hypertension in LMICs is due to several contributing factors, including insufficient human resource capacity. Thus, a critical component of hypertension management is to develop novel and effective solutions to the human resources challenge.
The webinar will discuss experiences of an NIH-funded implementation research project for task redistribution of hypertension care from physicians to nurses carried out in rural Kenya; the work conducted on effectiveness and strategies to optimize task redistribution and nurse-based care, use of mobile health clinical decision support tool, and barriers and facilitators to nurse management of hypertensive patients in rural Kenya.
