Bio

Christina Congdon is currently a Masters of Science candidate at Albany Medical College, where she is studying to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with a specialization in Global Health. She aims to focus her clinical work in obstetrical anesthesia, and her research project on the barriers to global surgical volunteerism with identification of potential methods to overcoming these barriers.

Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies from Stony Brook University in 2011. She has worked as a Surgical/Trauma ICU Registered Nurse in various New York City/borough hospitals since that time and continues to do so currently at NYU Hospital in Manhattan.

During the Ebola outbreak, Christina joined Partners in Health where she worked as an Emergency Response Nurse in Harper, Liberia. The scope of work encompassed not only operational and clinical tasks in an Ebola Treatment Unit, but overall health systems strengthening as well. Christina was actively involved in the construction and opening of a new Maternal-Child Health care center as well as graduate nurse training and curriculum development at Tubman University School of Nursing.
