Bio

Kaboni Whitney Gondwe, PhD, GH, UCM, RN, RM is a nurse-midwife originally from Malawi. She completed her BSN and University Certificate in Midwifery in 2006 and 2008 respectively from from University of Malawi, Kamuzu College of Nursing . She later completed her Masters in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education from Ohio University on a Fulbright Scholarship. She completed her PhD in Nursing and Doctoral Certificate in Global Health from Duke University and her research focused on "Emotional Responses and Mother-Infant Interactions of Mothers of Early-Preterm, Late-Preterm, and Full-term infants in Malawi", She is a registered as an RN both in US and Malawi and registered as a registered midwife in Malawi. Her research interest are maternal mental health and mother-infant relationship, perinatal substance abuse, global health, and health care systems.
