We've launched our #MultiplyChange Campaign! Join us today!

By Jordan Jarvis Moderator | 16 Nov, 2015

Dear YPers,

We are excited to announce our #MultiplyChange peer-to-peer crowdfunding campaign! (https://www.classy.org/events/multiplychange/e58528)

Beginning today, and running through December 31, we are raising funds for our NextGen Leaders Program that seeks to improve access to essential non-communicable disease medicines.

2015 was a big year for us, from officially receiving 501(C)(3) nonprofit status in the US to running our first Global Scholars workshop with the American Cancer Society. Not to mention all of the amazing accomplishments you, our members, have achieved through your work in your communities. Our movement for global chronic disease health equity is gaining momentum and 2016 will be even bigger!

We know that grassroots work is where the real, sustainable growth happens. That's why we are launching the NextGen Leaders Program, to provide advocacy and technical training to our members on how to mobilize their communities to support greater access to medicines. Each NextGen Leader will take what they have learned back to their communities to teach their peers and put what they have learned into action. To #MultiplyChange.

Through this #MultiplyChange campaign, we will fund our first program in Kenya.

-->> That is where you come in. We are asking you to help us by creating your own fundraising page and engaging your friends and family in our movement.

Getting started is easy! Simply click here (https://www.classy.org/events/multiplychange/e58528) to read more about the campaign and to create your fundraising page. We want you to have fun with it! Our Fundraising Toolkit (scroll down at http://ypchronic.org/page/join-the-multiplychange-campaign) has everything you will need to run a successful and exciting fundraiser. For examples of what others are doing for the campaign, check out existing pages like Madelynn's: https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=550804

Once you sign up to #MultiplyChange we will email you updates on the campaign, how to promote your page, and new pictures and videos you can share over the course of the campaign.

Help us say good bye to 2015 in a big way and #MultiplyChange in 2016!

In Solidarity,
Jordan Jarvis

Why NextGen Leaders Kenya?
We believe the fastest, most effective way to make NCD medicines more affordable and more available is to train the next generation of leaders on how to change the policies and societal practices that prevent equal access to treatments. One policy change can positively impact the lives of thousands. However, changing a policy requires certain knowledge and skills.

That’s why, with help from dozens of experts who volunteered their time, we’ve designed a training program—called YP-CDN NextGen Leaders—that gives emerging leaders a toolkit for addressing a lack of access to affordable NCD treatment in low and middle-income countries.

The training has been tested and proven to work. We have the toolkit, the trainers, and 30 talented young leaders in Kenya who are ready to combat NCDs and improve access to NCD medicines in their communities.
